- 4 hamburger buns
- 20 g of butter
- 700 g of veal or beef
- 1 egg
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 sprig of parsley
- salt, pepper
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1 red salad tomato
- 100 g of grated gouda cheese
- 4 large, pickled gherkins
To accompany
- 4 spoonfuls of mustard
- 4 spoonfuls of ketchup
Resting and cooking times
For a much tastier hamburger, let it rest for 1 minute after removing from the barbecue for the juices to distribute on the surface. For a rare hamburger: cook it for 4 minutes total (125 ºF). For medium rare: 5 minutes total (135 ºF). For medium well done: 6-7 minutes total (145 ºF). For well done: 8-9 minutes total (160 ºF).IN THE KITCHEN
- Peel and finely chop the clove of garlic. Place the meat, the chopped garlic and the egg in a bowl. Add salt and pepper and mix together. Make four equally sized hamburgers and set aside.
- Wash the lettuce and tomato, remove the tomato stalk and cut into four slices, shred the lettuce and slice the gherkins. Set aside.
- Spread butter on the buns and set aside.
ON THE BARBECUE
- Heat the barbeque to 500ºF. Place the hamburgers on the GRILL TILES, lower the temperature to 145ºF and cook the hamburgers for three minutes each side.
- When there is one minute left to finish cooking, place the buns on the GRILL TILES as well, the buttered side down.
- Place the lettuce, a slice of tomato, the gherkins, and the hamburger on the lower half of the bun. Add mustard and ketchup, place the other half of the bun on top and serve.
